Over burn a CD to add some MB beyond normal size.

Overburning is the process of recording data past the normal size limit.
The overburn option may be used to burn CDs with a larger capacity than the CD-R/CD-RW would normally permit you to write.

Many disc manufacturers extend a recordable disc to leave a small margin of extra groove at the outer edge. This lead-out was originally intended to provide tolerance for the read head of an audio CD player should it overseek, by providing a padding of up to 90 seconds of silent digital audio.
Recording onto the lead-out is possible with some combinations of CD recorder and authoring software. The actual amount of data that a disc will hold depends ultimately on the recordable media and varies somewhat between brands of disc, with lead-out accounting for up to 10% of the total disc capacity.
Almost all CD-ROM drives are capable of reading from the lead-out. For this reason, software publishers have on occasion shipped their software on similarly oversized compact discs to reduce packaging costs.

Oversized discs have also been used as a form of copy protection because it is more difficult to record copies of them.

Most CD-R media is either 650MB or 700MB. The burning starts from the centre of the CD and works its way out but stops before the physical edge of the CD. Overburning, is burning past the limitations and onto the edge of the CD, this can result in slightly higher capacity storage.

The maximum overburn CD capacity cannot be determined automatically! You can try adding a few minutes to the capacity that is mentioned on your blank disc..
click on the read more link.. it will show you the step-by-step process by which u can over burn a disc..

(1) Verify the CD Recorder supports Overburn.

(3) NOTE: Only continue if Supported was displayed in the above step.
Click File > Preferences...

I have a question: On some commercial audio cd's you can see where the burn stopped. Better quality music publishers seem to be able to fill up the whole disk, so you can't see the edge of burn line. When you plug them into a PC, they also show that the disk is up to maximum capacity. How do they do that? Is that maybe achieved by choosing "finalize"?
I've published my own songs with CD Architect, including ISRC #'s etc, but I'd like to get that pro look to my CD's.
