PocketGuiter For IPod Touch and IPhone.....!

iPhone and iPod touch user are getting some cool new device and application almost every day .. here is a new application called The Pocketguiter, made by Shinya Kasatani and it is a virtual guiter and it makes so much sense now; it is the guitar of the future, sent back to destroy enemies of rock music...

You can also use the songs on your iPod for those long guitar sessions and to get your fingers strumming, launch Installer and follow these instructions: Installer > Sources > Add http://podmap.net/apps to your repositories. PockeGuitar is filed under the Toys category. If this takes off in a big way, expect iPhone finger board extension peripherals to drop soon.

IBM to Supply Software for Apple Devices

Email software from IBM Corp. will be available on Apple Inc. iPhones and iPod Touch devices under a new partnership that brings together two big rivals of Microsoft Corp.
IBM plans a formal announcement of the Lotus Notes email package for Apple's portable devices at its Lotusphere conference in Orlando, Fla., next week. The software, which requires use of IBM's Domino email server program, will be free for users who already have a Lotus Web-access license and start at $39 per year for new users.
IBM also plans to release Lotus Notes and the free Lotus Symphony "productivity" package – which includes documents, spreadsheets and other Microsoft Office-like software – for Apple's Macintosh computers.
With these moves, IBM is trying to find more avenues for its software and take advantage of Apple's natural affinity for Microsoft alternatives.
The iPhone already can connect users to Web-based email services and to corporate e-mail sent over Microsoft's Exchange email platform, though businesses rarely enable the setting that makes it possible.
If IBM, which counts 135 million Lotus users worldwide, can get companies to let their employees check Lotus email on iPhones, the partnership could make Apple's gadget more competitive with Research in Motion Ltd.'s BlackBerry and other business-targeted smart phones.
IBM and Apple, competitors in the early years of the PC market, traditionally have not worked closely together in software, though Apple used IBM chips in some Macs for several years until ditching them in favor of Intel Corp. processors in 2005. But now the sides appreciate that "we have a lot in common," IBM spokesman Mike Azzi said. "We're going to cross-pollinate."
One reason for the distance between the two companies is the small overlap between Mac users and the big corporate customers that commonly buy products from IBM.
Now, Apple hardware has become a broader platform with the popularity of the iPhone and Web-enabled iPod Touch devices. However, Apple has delayed fully opening the devices to third-party applications; a "software developers' kit" to enable that isn't due until next month. Apple and IBM have been working together on their own.

An Indian Software Will now Judge the Umpire in Cricket...!

India's Unfortunate lost after being in a strong position in the last test match of ongoing India-Australia test series 2007-2008 creates a sign of sorrow among the people of India and among all cricket fans of India and this is due to some bad and poor umpiring, but Indian Software industry is now going to benefit from this bad decision of umpire as a string of software start-ups as well as the biggest outsourcing companies have developed solutions that can capture cricketing motions and analyse them real-time so that better decisions can be made if the umpire is inclined. At least, one software ranks cricket umpire on five grades of quality...
One of the leading Bangalore based Software company Swantha Software solution is on their way in developing a new Software which will track the performance of an umpire in a cricket match, it has been named as 3rdEYE which can aggregate all the data analysis at the end of a match and qualify the umpire’s performance as excellent, good, satisfactory, poor or bad, the judgement being made without human intervention
Sanjay Rao the co-founder of the company said that "Most of the times, the whole match depends upon the decisions of an umpire, like it happened in the recent India-Australia Test match. We can monitor these decisions using the 3rdEYE on a real time basis." he also said that "Using this software, we can judge how good the umpire is giving at decisions, especially during the crucial stages of the match"
It was used in the recent Karnataka-Mumbai Ranji Trophy encounter, where the local umpiring coach monitored the umpires’ performance and currently a demo has been given to the BCCI and if it is approved then we can expect that the standard of umpiring will surely increase when it will be used World wide..

Maximize your downloading speed from Utorrent

People think that it is difficult to download file from torrent, I also had the same thought initially when I got my internet, but it is also true that if you want better quality then you need to share file from torrent.
There are many torrent client are available , but I personally use and also suggest others to use Utorrent to download torrent file. Initially I had to face a lot of problem in downloading torrent file, then I got a tweak or you can call it a perfect setting for Utorrent..
this brilliant tutorial or setting to optimize Utorrent for its maximum speed is originally posted by Mr John, check his web page here
Here is the detail of the tutorial...

Step 1 : Open Utorrent then go to Options>Preferences>Network

1. Under ‘Port used for incomming connections‘ enter any port number. It is best to use a port number above 10000. I use 45682.

2. Randomize port each time ?torrent starts: UNCHECKED
leave this unchecked because if u have router. If you do not have a router or a firewall, and want extra security, check this option.

3. Enable UPnP port mapping (Windows Xp or later only): UNCHECKED
leave this unchecked because I have experienced it slowing down speeds. It is not needed if you manually port forward.

4. Add ?torrent to Windows Firewall exceptions (Windows XP SP2 or later only): UNCHECKED (do this only if you have windows firewall disabled)

5. Global Maximum upload rate (kb/s): [0: unlimited]: 22 (for 256k connection)

6. Protocol Encryption: ENABLED
I would recommend everyone to enable this. This can help increase speeds with many ISPs.

7. Allow incoming Legacy Connections: Checked.

Step 2 : Options>Preferences>Torrents

1. Global Maximum Number of Connections: 130 (for 256k connection)
This number should not be set too low or the number of connections made to your torrents will be limited. Setting it too high may cause too much bandwidth to be used and can cause slowdowns.
2. Maximum Number of connected peers per torrent: 70 (for 256k connection)
If you see that the peers connected to a specific torrent are exactly this number, or very close, increase this number to improve speeds.
3. Number of upload slots per torrent: 3 (for 256k connection)
This depends on how much you want to upload to other users. Do not set too low or it may affect download speeds.

4. Use additional upload slots if upload speed <90%:>Maximum number of active torrents: 2 (for 256k connection)
6. Maximum number of active downloads: 1 (for 256k connection)
7. Enable DHT Network: CHECKED, This is recommended to be checked to improve speeds. More people will be available for sharing if this is checked.
8. Enable DHT for new torrents: CHECKED
9. Enable Peer Exchange: CHECKED
10. Enable scrapping: CHECKED
11. Pre-allocate all files: CHECKED
12. Append .!ut to incomplete files: UNCHECKED

Step 3 :
Options>Preferences>Advanced.

If you use Windows XP SP2, patch tcpip.sys with LvlLord’s Event ID 4226 Patcher to get better performance.

net.max_halfopen: 50

DO NOT CHANGE THIS OPTION unless you have Windows XP SP2 and have patched tcpip.sys.
You can also patch tcpip.sys with xp-Antispy

If you have a firewall…
Open up the options/preferences/settings for the firewall - usually your firewall will have an icon to click in the taskbar
Look for the keywords “allow list” or “programs”
Add the application you want to give access to the internet
Make sure to save your settings when you are done

If you have a router…
Go to start>run>type cmd, press enter>type ipconfig, press enter
Remember both your ip address and your default gateway
Type in your default gateway into your default browser, a password prompt may come up. The default username and password are admin for my router
Under ‘Applications’ fill out one line for each p2p client you use
You need to use your ip address, the correct port range and set either tcp or udp
You can find and change the ports in the actual p2p client’s settings, just make sure they are the same in the router
Most p2p apps need both tcp and udp checked, if you are not sure check your p2p client’s FAQ
Save your settings

Check PortForward.com to forward ports for uTorrent.

All these setting are applied here are related to john's bandwidth, i applied this and it is really working, You also need to calculate your optimal setting for your connection . This is what john had to say about how to calculate optimal setting for your connection, check it from here ..

Apply these setting and enjoy downloading from torrent.. If you Know any other tricks to increase uTorrent’s download speed? Please share them here....

Animation , With Stick-figure Animator.

Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement. It is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision. This could be anything from a flip book to a motion picture film
There is no single person who can be considered the "creator" of the art of animation, as there were several people doing several projects which could be considered various types of animation all around the same time. (Short, hand-drawn animation scenes could be presented with the Phenakistoscope, the Zoetrope, and other optical "toys" already in the early 1800s.)

Would you like to do something like this....

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Don't worry these are not flash animation, also i am not talking about those costly animation software like 3ds max or Maya etc..this is a freeware software known as “Pivot stickfigure animator”, you can get it from the original site of the pivot animator.
Or get it from here: version 2.2.5(size : 485 kb) (developer : peter bone)

Check out this also..

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Pivot
is downloadable freeware created as a way to make it easier to create stick-figure animations. The software allows the user to create stick figure animations easily and without any artistic skills. You can move the sections of the stick figure and create a chain of animation frames that can be previewed as you go. You can use more than one stick-figure in the animation, and even create your own stick figures using an easy to use visual editor that lets you assemble objects out of lines and circles. You can build your own stick figures and load your own backgrounds. In addition, you can optionally set animation size, speed and more. The animations can then be saved as animated gifs to be used on web pages.

A complete tutorial or guide from the msn group for pivot animator is available here
Also checkout the Wikipedia guide.
